Laminated Glass

Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a safety glass in which two or more panes are bonded together with interlayers. If the glass breaks, the fragments remain bonded to the interlayer, preventing them from scattering and reducing the associated risk of injury.

With its high processing capacity, Camglass meets the laminated glass needs of large-scale architectural projects. Its comprehensive processing infrastructure, which brings together different glass types, sizes and interlayer options, enables project-specific solutions.

Available in flat and bent forms, with clear, coloured and opaque options. Glass type, thickness and interlayer properties are determined according to the project’s safety and design requirements. Coloured interlayers offer a range of colour options to suit the architectural design.

Laminated glass with acoustic interlayers reduces sound transmission and contributes to indoor comfort. When used with suitable coatings in insulating glass units, safety, acoustic insulation, thermal insulation and solar control can be combined in a single glass build-up.

Camglass’s laminated glass quality checks assess the adhesion between glass and interlayer and the integrity of the lamination. Adhesion tests check how well the interlayer bonds to the glass, while boil tests check for defects such as bubbles and delamination under the effect of temperature and humidity. For the classification of glass requiring resistance to manual attack, impact or axe tests under EN 356 are applied according to the target security class.

Key Features

High Safety

Maintains glass integrity, reducing the risks associated with breakage and impact.

Acoustic Comfort

Its interlayer structure helps reduce outside noise.

UV Protection

Protects interiors by blocking most UV radiation.

Related Production Processes

Before lamination: The glass layers are cut and processed according to the project. Any required drilling, CNC, printing, painting, tempering or bending is completed before lamination.

End use: Laminated glass is prepared as a stand-alone glass element or as a component of an insulating glass unit.

Applications

Façades

Glass Balustrade

Glass Roofs and Skylights

Interior Partitions

Entrance Canopies
